Presidential Mortgage Group Leadership
John Schoemer, Divisional President
John Schoemer serves as President of Presidential Mortgage Group. He has been employed with Presidential Bank or a bank affiliate since 1987 and has served in numerous management positions throughout his 23 years with the organization. Mr. Schoemer oversees Presidential Bank, FSB’s mortgage operations in addition to Presidential Mortgage Group’s management team. In addition to leading the mortgage entity, Mr. Schoemer is also responsible for operations, underwriting, secondary marketing and construction lending.
Mr. Schoemer has over 30 years of mortgage industry experience. He previously served as President of Seneca Mortgage where he directed the company’s secondary marketing and operations areas. He was also employed as a Vice President of Developers Mortgage Corporation, as well as Director of Secondary Marketing for Washington Federal Savings and Loan. Schoemer also has been employed with PMI Mortgage Insurance.
Mr. Schoemer holds a BS Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and serves on the Credit Committee of Presidential Savings Bank.
Michael J. Carr, Divisional Executive Vice President
Michael Carr is Executive Vice President of Presidential Mortgage Group. He previously served as Regional Manager for PNC/National City Mortgage’s Eastern Region. His primary responsibility entails overseeing all retail and joint venture production centers that serve Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and North Carolina.
Mr. Carr has over 22 years of mortgage industry experience. He has been employed as the President of James Madison Mortgage Company, as well as Vice President of Secondary Marketing for Manufacturers Hanover and Society Mortgage Company. Carr also has been employed with UGRIC, First Prime Mortgage, and Northeast Savings.
Mr. Carr holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticut.
Richard B. Becker, Divisional Senior Vice President
Richard "Rich" Becker is Senior Vice President of Presidential Mortgage Group. He formerly was Senior Vice President and Regional Sales Manager for PNC/National City Mortgage’s Eastern Region. Mr. Becker was previously employed with PNC/National City Mortgage where he oversaw the retail sales force for the DC region and was responsible for recruiting and training loan officers. Mr. Becker has over 35 years of mortgage industry experience. Prior to joining National City Mr. Becker served as Executive Vice President of Retail Production for James Madison Mortgage Company. He is an Emeritus Board Member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metropolitan Washington and is also listed in Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities.
Mr. Becker has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business & Finance from Mount St. Mary's College. He is a member of the Loan Production Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and former President of the MBA of Metropolitan Washington, DC.
James G. Round, Divisional Senior Vice President
James “Jim” Round is a Senior Vice President of Presidential Mortgage Group. Previously Mr. Round was in charge of all Joint Ventures in the Eastern and Midwestern Divisions for PNC/National City Mortgage. Other responsibilities at PNC included financial and administrative management for the Eastern Region.
Mr. Round has over 22 years of mortgage banking experience. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer of James Madison Mortgage Company and Vice President of Finance for York Associates, Inc. a multi-family lender. Prior to mortgage banking, Mr. Round was employed with Arthur Andersen & Company as a senior auditor and also worked for IBM Corporation.
Mr. Round has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant.
